JJ was born in Charlotte, MI on April 4, 1944 to Lowell and Alice (Louise) Boyer.  He grew up in Charlotte, where he met his wife, Jean, while in school.  In 1973, they moved their family to Sunfield, MI.  Over the years, he worked as a truck driver and for the local grain elevators.  The most important thing in life to J.J. was his family.  He loved spending time with his children, his grandchildren and then his great-grandchildren.  He enjoyed the farm life, both at work and at home, tending to his own garden in the back yard every year.  J.J. was a fan of country music, western movies and had an extensive collection of western novels.  He loved to tinker in his workshop and shared the fun of fishing with his kids and grandkids.  J.J. was blessed with the gift of gab, he loved to talk to people about anything and everything, often crossing paths and chatting with someone he knew, no matter where he went.  In addition to his days of trucking, J.J. enjoyed traveling, whether in-state or out, to visit family and friends, often wandering off the beaten path to "take the scenic route".

J.J. is survived by his wife of 56 years, Jeannette Jean (Morales) Boyer.  Their children, Jorum (Lisa) Boyer, Luterio (Christine) Boyer, Phillip (Debora) Boyer, Jeannette (Dean (deceased)) Spitzley, Kenneth Boyer, Charles (Ann) Boyer, Jessica (Justin) Garvie, and his sisters, Wilma Hogle, Mary Hall, and Donna Thayer.  He is also survived by his 19 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a large extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Lola Smith and Martha Swift, and his brother Donald Boyer.

J.J. was loved by all and will truly be missed.
