M. Gene Klotz passed away on Wednesday, December 7, with his family by his side.  Gene was born January 23, 1931, in the home where he still resided.  He graduated from Sunfield High School in 1949 and served in the Korean War.  He retired from Oldsmobile, Die Division, GMC, in May of 1985.  

Gene enjoyed fly-fishing the Au Sable River and woodworking.  He and Joyce reside in Lansing, MI, Grayling MI, and also at the Hiawatha Sportsmen’s Club in Engadine, MI.  Married for over 60 years to Joyce, they are the parents of Terry (Josephine) Klotz, Brad Klotz and Cindy (Ken) Lamain.  Gene was preceded in death by his son Brad.  He had many grandchildren:  Jennifer (JJ) Triick, Amanda McClendon, Thomas Klotz, Marty Lamain, Andrew Klotz, Cassidi (Clinton) Mathews, Taylor Klotz, and Nick Lamain.  Great-grandchildren:  Justin Triick, Sophie Triick, Thomas McClendon, Kaley McClendon, Olivia Triick and Carson Mathews. 

A visitation with the family will be held on Thursday, Dec 15, from 4-7 p.m. at Rosier Funeral Home, Mapes-Fisher Chapel  in Sunfield, MI.  A private family burial will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions would be appreciated by the family to Nursing Alumni Endowment C/O Sparrow Foundation, 1322 E. Michigan Avenue, Ste 204, Lansing, MI 48912, or the SPY’s, 6625 West Grand Ledge Hwy., Sunfield, MI, 48890, in memory of M. Gene Klotz.
