Welcome to the memorial page for

Paul Andrew Richards

December 16, 1980 ~ September 8, 2017 (age 36) 36 Years Old

Paul Andrew Richards

Sunfield, Michigan

On September 8, 2017, Paul lost his courageous, long, hard fought battle with cancer. Paul was born in Lansing Michigan, December 16, 1980 to JoAnn and Dan Richards Sr. He is survived by his wife Shannon (Spencer) Richards, children McKenzie Richards and Eli Richards, brothers Dan Richards Jr and John Richards, nieces Emma, Olivia, Jaiden, Jori and Faith, and nephew Austin.

Paul was a very proud, 3rd generation, GM employee of 15 years. He was also a very avid outdoorsman. As a young man in Boy Scouts, Paul was actively involved in scouting and attended the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico. Years later, following in his father’s footsteps, Paul obtained his captain’s license and ran salmon charters out of Manistee, Michigan on his dad’s boat the Huck Finn 2. One of Paul’s greatest passions was coaching McKenzie and Eli in fast pitch softball. He loved coaching and seeing his babies grow and improve with each practice and game. He was their #1 fan and always will be!

Paul was a devoted family man who loved his wife and daughters deeply and one of his proudest moments was building their family home in Sunfield. He was always quick to help his family and friends on a moment’s notice without hesitation. One of Paul’s passions and favorite past times was boating with his family on Lake Michigan.

In Lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cancer Research for Sarcoma https://www.curesarcoma.org/memorial-and-honorary-giving/ in memory of Paul A. Richards.

The world is a lesser place without Paul in it and we are all better off for having known him and experienced life with him. Truly… Earth’s Cry and heaven’s smile. Heaven has gained an angel. He will forever be missed and his legacy will live on through our thoughts, memories and his family.
