Brian Scott Sipperley

December 7, 1962 ~ December 1, 2016 (age 53) 53 Years Old

Brian Scott Sipperley, 53, of Sunfield passed away unexpectedly at his home on Dec. 1,  2016.   Brian was born on Dec. 7, 1962 to his parents Nowell and Beulah Sipperley of Lansing MI.  He grew up in Lansing with his parents and three sisters and spent many weekends in Sunfield with his grandparents, Philip and Catherine Sipperley.   Brian married Kathy (Sweet) Sipperley on December 14,  1990.  They met each other on a blind date and were married eight months later.  He became an instant father to Kathy's two children, Casey and Kelli Aten, and about a year later they added to their family when their daughter, AnnMarie was born.  Brian had many fond memories of spending time in Sunfield when he was a child,  so when they decided to buy a home for their family,  they chose to move to Sunfield   Brian was employed by the City of Lansing at the Wastewater Treatment Plant, where he worked his way up to a supervisory position.  He retired in January of 2014 after 31 years of service.   Brian enjoyed motorcycles, hunting, fishing, and camping and he was an avid supporter of the NRA.  During the  spring and summer of 2016, Brian and Kathy went camping twenty weekends, visiting various campgrounds around the state of Michigan.  After his retirement, Brian  picked up a few new hobbies, which included making homemade bread, homemade sauerkraut and the best apple pie in the world!   Brian was preceded in death by his parents Nowell and Beulah Sipperley. He is survived by his loving wife of 26 years,  Kathy, his three children, Casey (Rachel) Aten, Kelli (Jon) Witham and AnnMarie Sipperley and his very special "soon-to-be son-in-law" Cody Harshman.  Brian and Kathy have nine grandchildren.  He is also survived by his sisters, Brenda (Rick) White, Kathy (Rob) Nortman and Stacey Crampton and many wonderful nieces and nephews.   Visitation will be held at Rosier Funeral Home, Mapes-Fisher Chapel in Sunfield on Thursday, Dec. 8th from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00pm.   A funeral Mass will be held at St Edward’s Catholic Church in Lake Odessa on Friday, December 9th at 11:00am.   Donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.  Please visit a special webpage made for Brian at www.rosierfuneralhome.com to light a candle or leave a condolence.  The family is served by the Independent Family Owned Funeral Home in Sunfield: Rosier Burial and Cremation Services.
