I am thankful that my father, Wayne Pede, and Red, both attended Michigan State University where they developed a life-long friendship. Even through their perspective marriages and kids, the 2 families continued their friendship both at Eaton Rapids Camp and in their homes. Some of my first memories I have is spending time with Sarah, Red, Bruce, and Sheryl at Eaton Rapids Camp in the Tabernacle services, as well as socializing at our Duckworth cottage, which belonged to my mother's folks. As years past, Red and Sarah's driving became limited, but I always knew I could find them on the Wednesday of camp outside of the Tabernacle waiting for the afternoon service. Another memory I have is visiting their home on Shuman Road where Sarah would offer my husband and children something cold to drink, while Red would show us his Bible research on the End Times. When Sheryl asked my sister, my girls, and I to sing "The King Is Coming", I immediately knew how honoring this would be to Red since he very much longed to see Jesus. He and Sarah will be missed by the Pede/Sloothaak family.

Sheryl, Bruce and family, I'm so sorry to hear of Red's passing though I know he is back with his beloved Sarah. My memories of growing up in Sunfield United Methodist Church always include Red and Sarah and their strong faith, kindness and love for all. May knowing they are with the Lord give your peace and comfort.

Harold (now deceased) was a special friend of Francis, meeting in 1943. They walked their belief and always were reaching out to others. Francis introduced Harold and I at one of our First Baptist youth fellowship gatherings and later we welcomed Sarah. My prayers for their daughter Sheryl, her family, their son Bruce, and multitude of friends, may you all feel God's love when you think of these two God-fearing, loving, people.

Mom and I were both saddened hearing of Uncle Red's passing. I will always remember the twinkle in his eye and the huge smile of his. While we will miss him, I know that he is being showered in the grace of god standing by all the loved ones that have preceded him. Love you Uncle Red.

I have so many wonderful childhood memories of Red and Sarah Jane. My parents, Jerold and Ila Oaks, would pack a lunch and drive to Sunfield to spend the day with them as often as possible. Then, several years ago, Red and Sarah Jane visited my parents in Arizona, and we got together with them for an evening of reminiscing. Golly, what a joy to have such wonderful memories. One could never think of just Red or Sarah Jane; they were a couple here on earth, and now with our Heavenly Father.

What fond memories we have of spending time with Red and Sarah in Spain.
We loved listening to Red as he shared his insights on the word of God. Oh, what a glorious day it was for him when he saw his Savior.

Sheryl and David,
Cindy and I are praying for you during your time of loss. We know that your dad loved the Lord and is with his Savior now. I was blessed to get to know your mom and dad as we helped them prepare to move to Spain. Cindy was blessed to know them while your mom was her 4-H sewing teacher while growing up. I know that your dad influenced so many lives over the years. We are praying that the Lord will comfort you as only He can. God Bless You!

We celebrate Red's graduation. There is nothing he would have wanted more unless it was the rapture! Few people with the exception of his daughter Sheryl and husband David shared a deeper interest in Biblical content than Red and I. With the eyes of eternity we say "we will see you soon Red and Sarah!" May the Lord find us faithful like you!

I come from Cornwall, England where Red's father was born. We first met in Nerja (Málaga) Spain in 1995. Throughout the years, I would make "a lovely cuppa" and sit down to listen to his stories from South Dakota and Michigan. Each Saturday afternoon I would read to Red and Sarah from his sister's memory book about the Jane family history. He was a good-natured and kind man. I was glad to have known him.

So sorry to hear of your fathers passing. I always enjoyed visiting with Red and Sarah. Whether it was at church, Family Camp at Yankee Springs, at their home, and especially in Nerja! Your Dad was always willing and eager to share his biblical wisdom. He will be missed, but I know we will meet again! God Bless your family.

Like others, our memories are many and warm our hearts. Times with Red always seem to revolve around faith. That says alot about the legacy he leaves behind. We were blessed to call him friend.

There was never a time in my life that I did not know Red and Sarah Jane. I was at their house almost as much as I was at my own. My "second set" of parents have now passed. Red was very intelligent and knew God's Word well. He loved to study and share. He will be missed.

Red was an awesome guy. He was my Sunday School teacher for several years, and I learned a lot from him. When I went to college, he and Sarah said I would have no one to pray for me, so they decided that they would pray for me everyday. I grew more spiritually that year then any other time in my life. I rode back and forth with him to MSU for one semester, and we had several interesting conversations. We will miss him.
