Barbara Jean (Darling) Todd passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 13, 2019 in Aurora, Colorado.  Barbara was born in Portland, MI on November 30, 1953 to Wellman R. Darling, Sr. and Barbara J. (Newlin) Darling.  Barb graduated from Lakewood HS in 1971.  She married the love of her life, Richard Todd on June 18, 1977.  They moved to Colorado in 1984 with their 3 children: Melissa, Heidi, and Aaron. 

Barb started working in the restaurant industry as a waitress and worked up to GM (general manager) for a restaurant chain in Denver.  Her most recent job was as a Correctional Officer/Kitchen Manager for the Aurora Correctional Center.   Barb enjoyed gardening, working in her flower beds and watching the hummingbirds enjoy the flowers as well.   Barb’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.

Barb unconditionally loved her family and will be missed by her husband Richard Todd, children Melissa Todd, Heidi (Barry) Rockburn, Aaron Todd, mother Barbara Darling, brother Charles (Karen) Darling, sister Susan Darling, 15 nieces and nephews, and numerous cousins, great nieces and great nephews.  

Barb was preceded in death by her grandparents, father Wellman R. Darling, Sr., brothers Wellman R. Darling, Jr. and Benjamin Darling.   

A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate Barb’s life will be held Friday, June 28, 2019 at 11am at the First Baptist Church of Sebewa on the corner of Musgrove and Goddard Hwy.   

In lieu of flowers, donations to the family to help with medical costs would be appreciated.
