Bernard Devilo McDiarmid, age 83 of Lake Odessa, Michigan passed peacefully to start his eternal life with Jesus, on April 16, 2024. He was surrounded by his three daughters and his loving wife Beverly of 54 years. Bernie found so much joy in making others smile and making others enjoy life as he did. He was known as the sweet man that loved passing out his mind teaser puzzles to all who would just have a little conversation with him. His puzzles and his woodworking projects can be found from Denmark to Ann Arbor, to Tennessee, the UP and anywhere in between. His enjoyment of life consisted of being a kind gentle soul to strangers and spending time with those who he loved so dearly. Bernard retired from General Motors after 30 years of service. He loved his family of three daughters, Lisa McDiarmid of Lansing, Joy (Ron) Wolbers of Saranac and Julie Nurenberg of Lake Odessa. Four grandchildren Chelsea Adams of Lowell, Jessica Nurenberg of Lake Odessa, Shelby (Adam) Lyke of Ionia and Melanie (Brandon) Bennett of Clarksville. Three great grandchildren, Amelia and Nash Adams and Eliana Bennett. Bernie will be loved and missed by so many people he has touched over the years. The family ask in lieu of flowers to please donate to Hospice of Michigan or your charity of choice.
