Betty A. Campeau

Betty Ann (Patterson) Campeau passed away at her home on August 12, 2019. She was born April 16, 1943 in Evanston Illinois to Charles and Margaret (Darnell) Patterson. She was a graduate of Holt High School and worked as a telephone operator for Michigan Bell Telephone Company prior to her marriage on November 7 ,1964 to Ronald A. Campeau. For a brief 1 ½ years prior to their 2 sons being born, Betty worked as a catalog salesclerk for Sears and Roebuck. Later after their sons were raised, Betty worked in the insurance & income tax preparation fields then lastly as the secretary for their local church till 2005 when her general health began to decline some. After several illnesses and surgeries her final battle was that of advanced pancreatic and liver cancer. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Charles R & Margaret (Darnell) Patterson, her brother, Charles A. Patterson, father and mother in law, Paul and Elsie Campeau and brother in law Early Wheeler. Betty is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Ronald Campeau, 2 sons Michael & Sheri (Rogers) Campeau and Jeffery & Michelle (Daniels) Campeau, 8 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sarah, Joshua, Emily, Nathan, Peter, Nicholas and Daniel, and her sister Pattie (Patterson) Wheeler and sister in law Linda (Lynn) Bardo and sister in law Carolyn Patterson and many nieces and nephews. As she loved them all in life, she will love them in death.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Sparrow Hospice Services of Lansing.
Visitation will be at the Sunfield United Methodist Church on Thursday August 15, 2019 from 5-8 PM. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM – Friday August 16, 2019 at South Church in Lansing. Graveside Services will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery 11:00 AM – Monday August 19, 2019.
