Charles Leroy Darling

Charles Leroy Darling of Sunfield, MI, passed away on July 31 2023

Chuck was born May 14th, 1951 to Wellman and Barbara (Newlin) Darling.

On March 14th, 1970 he married Karen Sue Brandsen of Ionia.

Chuck worked for LaVern and Kendall Carr on their farm for 38 years.  After “retirement”, he continued to assist local farms (Cunningham Farms and Cassel Farms) with field work as needed.  He loved the smell of fresh worked ground and watching the crops grow.  He had many hobbies, working in his wood work shop was his favorite.  As time went on his attention was put to messing with his grand kids, getting them all hyped up then sending them home with more candy in their pockets.

Chuck was preceded in death by both of his parents, brother’s Wellman Jr and Ben, and sister’s Barbara Todd and Susan Darling.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years and son Stacy (Patti) Darling, daughter Angela (Joel) Seiler, daughter Kerri (Chad) Taylor, son Scott (Lisa) Darling, son Steven Darling and Brother in law Richard Todd.

Chuck and Karen have 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be August 8 from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm.

Funeral services will be August 9 at 11 am with a luncheon to follow immediately after.

All arrangements are being handled by Rosier Funeral Home with Visitation and services to be held at United Brethren Church in Sunfield.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association and The Michael J Fox foundation for Parkinsons.
