Chester Holton Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Chester Dean Holton, a devoted husband, father, friend who left this world peacefully on October 5th, 2024, at the age of 96. Chester was born on April 29, 1928, in Sunfield, Michigan.

Chet’s greatest joy was his family and fishing. He was the beloved husband of Violet Darlene Holton, having many wonderful years together they built a life filled with laughter, love and unwavering support. Chet was a dedicated father to his two children, Terry and Mark and always encouraged them to follow their dreams and instilling in them the values of kindness, hard work and integrity. His proudest moments were those spent with his family.

In addition to his family, Chester was known for his sense of humor. He had a unique ability to make everyone feel welcome and could always carry on a conversation even with a stranger. Chet was an avid fisherman, he often spent days on the lake fishing with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Chet served his country in the US Army 237th Combat Engineers. Having had unique experiences in Germany and making lasting memories, friends and brothers.

Chester is survived by his devoted son Mark Holton, his grandchildren Mark Holton, Bethany Castro (Holton), Heather Kirchen, Samantha Kirchen and Jacob Kirchen and his many great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Violet Holton (Nesman) and his beautiful daughter Terry Kirchen (Holton), and his father Loren Holton and his mother Queenie Holton (Brown).

Though we mourn his absence we find comfort in the beautiful memories we shared, family gatherings filled with laughter, quiet moments of reflection, and the simple joys of life that he so truly valued.

We carry Chester’s spirit in our hearts, knowing that he will always be a part of us. Chester, you will be deeply missed, but your legacy of love will continue to guide us.

Forever in our hearts.
