Deborah Lee Black, 71, of Charlotte, Michigan, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026. She was born on June 24, 1954, and spent her life opening her heart and home to those in need.
Deborah was known for her sense of humor, her love for animals, and her talent in the kitchen. She welcomed others with a good meal and often a good laugh.
She enjoyed painting, watching I Love Lucy, singing, cooking, gardening, playing card games, and spending time with those she loved.
Deborah is survived by her husband, Troy Black; her son, Adam Claflin; her daughters, Amy Holcomb and Alyson Fox; her beloved grandchildren: Miles, Teddy, Orion, Mercutio, Ethan; and her siblings , Diana Wells (Ted), Connie Johnson (Brett), Kay Lindsay (Jeff) and a special mention of Ronald Wells Jr-deceased (Sandy) and many beloved nieces and nephews. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A visitation will be held on January 6, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 a.m. then a luncheon at United Brethren Church in Sunfield, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Troy, Amy, or Alyson.
Her ability to make people feel special, her humor, and love will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
