Donald Bert Thorp went to be with Jesus on July 26, 2023. Donald was born to Marshall and Dorothy Thorp on June 16, 1949. He was proceeded in death his parents, Marshall and Dorothy, also by brother Larry Thorp, niece Jamie Thorp and nephew A.J. Devol.  Donald left behind his loving wife of 24 years, Vickie Morehouse Thorp.  He had three sisters Bonnie Thorp Engel, Jackie Thorp, and Connie (AL) Devol, plus many beloved nieces and nephews.   As a child he loved to help his father on the farm, after growing up he did custodial work at several places until his retirement. Donald loved the Lord with all his heart, but the Michigan State Spartans came a close second. He loved the outdoors. He could be seen walking all over Lake Odessa with his walking stick.  He also loved to sit in McDonalds, drink coffee and visit with people and friends alike.  He was a wonderful and kind person that will be sorely missed.  Any memorial donations can be made to the ASPCA.  Visitation at the Sunfield United Brethren Church 10-11am Tuesday August 1, 2023.  Celebration of Life service 11am Tuesday August 1, 2023, all at the Church. A luncheon to follow at the United Brethren fellowship hall.  Interment in Sunfield Cemetery.  The family has entrusted the arrangements to the Independent Family-Owned Funeral Home in Sunfield:  Rosier Funeral Home.
