Dorothy McKeeman Obituary

Dorothy Bernita Miller McDiarmid McKeeman died peacefully at the home of Rob and Sandy Munsters on September 24, 2021.  Dorothy Miller was born on a farm seven miles north of Fowler, Michigan on 9/28/1932 to Irene Mae (Slocum) and Leo Edward Miller. She was the sibling of Raymond, Roman, Lawrence, Clement, Robert, William, Mary Lou (Jorgensen), Catherine (Weir), and Lorena (Fleming),

She was brought at a young age to St Vincent’s Home for Children in Detroit after her father died in January 1933.

She returned to live with her family in Grand Ledge, Michigan as a young teenager.

She married Kenneth Leroy McDiarmid (died 8/24/1989) on 2/26/1949.

She birthed 8 children, Marsha Kay Thomas, Danny Niles (Sandy Kay Canfield), Ronald Leroy (Marlene Sandborn), Barry Scott (Teresa Pash), Timothy Patrick (died 5/3/1968), Teresa Carol (Randy Ratcliff), Sandra Sue (Robert Munsters), and Cheryl Renee (Bill Binder).

She married Everett McKeeman (died 7/6/2005) on 6/21/1996.

She has numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grand kids, great grand kids, and great great grand kids, all of whom will mourn the loss of her wonderful presence.

The single most common remark in response to her death was of her sweet spirit.  Our mom was the definition of love.

1 Cor 13:4-7. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Elara Caring Hospice Foundation, Covenant House, or Christ Child House.
