Kathryn Cuyler (Benedict) Allen February 24, 1926 – November 28, 2021

Kathryn Cuyler (Benedict) Allen passed away peacefully in her sleep November 28, 2021.    She lived a long and fruitful life having attained the age of 95.  She was born, along with her twin sister Edith to Nettie Shotwell Benedict and her husband Ralph C. Benedict on February 24, 1926.  She was a child of the Great Depression and her youth was consumed with the events of World War Two.  She was the Salutatorian of her high school class (Portland Public Schools, class of 1943) and was educated at Henry Ford Hospital and became a Registered Nurse. 

She Married Thomas Hayes Allen.  This union produced two sons, James (Anne) and Thomas (Diane), four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren all of whom survive her.  She was a woman of great taste and style, extremely well read and a great lover of animals.  She is predeceased by her husband Tom, her twin sister Edith, a favored dachshund Jessica and her beloved cat Smokey.

No funeral is planned but instead there will be a gathering of friends and family in the later Spring along with a short grave side service. Please refrain from sending the family gifts or flowers.
