Kay Marlene Bodenmuller of Woodland was born December 14th, 1938 to Guy and Maxine Taylor in Sunfield Michigan. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 24th, 2025 at the age of 86.

Kay was married on March 18, 1961 to the love of her life, Reinhold Bodenmuller.

Kay was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents Guy and Maxine Taylor (Linhart) and her brothers Gordon and Jack along with sisters Nancy and Patricia. Kay will be lovingly remembered by her children Robin Michalski (Norbert) and John Bodenmuller (Julie); Grandchildren
Austin (Alexandria), Brogan, Kelsey Norman (Curtis), Melissa Oexner (Daniel) and McKaily; as well as great granddaughters McKenna, Emery and Natalie Norman. She will be deeply missed by her surviving big sister, Joyce Klotz.

Kay retired from Hastings Manufacturing after working there for 39 years. She was a member of Woodgrove Parish Church in Coats Grove. Kay enjoyed quilting, gardening, bird watching, volunteering at Pennock Hospital and Manna’s Market. Her Stoney Point Women’s Club, Hastings Women’s Club, Hastings Garden Club and Lake Odessa Garden Club kept her busy after retirement and she treasured the friendships she formed from them.

Together her and Ron enjoyed traveling, camping, square dancing and shared a love for lighthouses. Ron took Kay and the family to Germany for the first time in 1975 with many trips to follow. For many summers they tended as lighthouse keepers at the Big Sable Lighthouse in Ludington MI. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to Alaska. Square dancing was an activity that took them to many new places and brought them many fond memories.
