Mickey was born on October 1st, 1951, to John and Mary Hogarty in Trenton, New Jersey.
She passed away peacefully on St Patrick’s Day March 17th, 2025, at the age of 73.
Mickey was married on February 26,1977 to the love of her life Patrick Spencer
She was preceded in death by her parents John and Mary Hogarty (Shoap), brother-in-law Rick Spencer and son-in-law Paul Richards.
Mickey will be remembered by her children Jason Spencer, Meghan Spencer and Shannon Richards (Spencer) Grandchildren Austin Dotson-Spencer, Jaiden Spencer, McKenzie Richards, Jori Spencer, Eli Richards and Faith Spencer.
First of all, I must say that the last 49 years with my wife Michele (Mickey) were the worst. If you believe that then I am selling you the Brooklyn Bridge. Seriously they were the best years of my life.
Mickey was the most genuine unselfish person ever. She lived for the sole purpose of doing for others before herself. Her mantra “NO SPECIAL PEOPLE, IF YOU TREAT EVERYONE SPECIAL” that was the way she lived her life.
There were 5 things that she always loved. 1. Family, 2. Shopping, 3. Gaming, 4. Working. 5. Four legged friends.
FAMILY meant everything to her. She made it a point to always listen and put everyone first. She would never miss a single important moment in any of the kids or grandkids’ life.
SHOPPING, Mickey didn’t have a lot growing up, so when she had the ability to do so and get stuff (for everyone but herself) SHE DID. Our basement and closets will attest to that. Christmas was her favorite time of the year. It would take hours to open presents. She had a system using random numbers and letters to mark all the presents so no one but her would know whose presents were whose.
GAMING, Mickey loved gaming. She loved to play card games, board games, and especially going and spending time at the casinos, which she was surprisingly good at. She seemed to come home ahead of the game.
WORKING, Mickey worked for the State of Michigan in the treasury department. She loved her work, and she would still be there today. She told me many times that if she could work till, she was 100 she would.
FOUR LEGGED FRIENDS, Mickey loved dogs. She raised, bred, and showed Newfoundlands, at one time she had 18 newfies. All AKC champions. Later in life she kept inheriting the strays that the kids would bring home. They as well were family.
To the most amazing woman in our lives: We love and miss you so much!!
