Nereida (Loretta) Luz Harrington, 79, of Lake Odessa, Michigan, passed away at home with her family on Friday, September 30, 2022, after suffering a massive stroke on August 26, 2022.  Nereida was born on May 28, 1943, in the Barrio of Pellejas, Adjuntas, Puerto Rico, to Benito and Eloina Lopez.

Nereida was a member of the Nashville Baptist Church. She enjoyed shopping, restaurants and vacationing with family. 

She was preceded in death by both her parents, her husband of 43 years, Allen Harrington, and her second husband of six years, Gregory Schnelle, her brother, Ben, and sister, Edith. She is survived by her brother Anthony (Jim) Lopez of Florida, three children, Annette Harrington of Lansing, Patrizia Sordillo of Caledonia, Allen (Helena) Harrington Jr. of Lake Odessa, 11 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 8, at 11:00 a.m. with a luncheon following at the Nashville Baptist Church, with Paster Deano Lamphere. The graveside service will be at 1:00 p.m. at the Sunfield Cemetery.
