Robert Alden Sandborn, 77, of Ionia formerly of Sunfield, passed away at SKLD Medical Facility, on February 9, 2024, after a short battle with cancer. He was born on April 13, 1946 in Lansing to Howard and Mary (Goodrich) Sandborn. Bob was mentally challenged and lived with his parents on the family farm. He was a great help to his father and mother on the farm. He enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews and will be greatly missed. His greatest passion was watching old movies and was able to name almost all the movie stars. Bob also enjoyed McDonalds chocolate shakes as a treat from family members.
He is survived by his brothers William (Arlene) Sandborn of Lake Odessa and Edwin (Evelyn) Sandborn of Sunfield, several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, niece, Kassandra Sandborn and grandparents.
The family would like to thank the staff at SKLD for all the care that they gave Bob over the last 10 years. Also, thank you to the staff from Elara Caring Hospice for their care during this past month.
