Robert James Stemler, 58, of Sheridan passed away Sunday November 17, 2019 at Secluded Pines where he was resident for 24 years. He was born January 23, 1961 in Lansing, MI, son of Kenneth A. and Maxine Ilene (Hummel) Stemler. He attended Portland Public Schools, and the Special Education Department.  Robert was a former employee of EBI Manufacturing, enjoyed riding his horse, hunting, camping, snowmobiling, fishing, was in the Cub Scouts, and won several medals in the Special Olympics.  He was preceded in death by both his parents, sister, Donna Cassel.  Surviving are brothers, Richard (Yvonne), Doug (Diane), and Kenny, sister, Nancy (Mark) Thompson, numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.  Visitation with viewing 5-8 pm Wednesday November 20, 2019 at the Sunfield United Brethren Church. Services honoring his life will be held 11:00 am – Thursday November 21, 2019 also at the Church.  Contributions may be made to Secluded Pines Assisted Living in Sheridan, MI.  Interment will be in the Danby Cemetery.
